In the photo, Salah is accompanied by his wife, Magi, and their daughters, Makka and Kayan, all dressed in matching pajamas. He captioned the image with "#MerryChristmas" on both his Twitter and Instagram accounts.

While many fans appreciated the gesture, some expressed disapproval, citing Islamic traditions that do not celebrate Christmas. One supporter remarked, "I shall be unfollowing you and stop supporting Liverpool because you are celebrating Christmas with the Christians." Another stated, "I’ve been a Liverpool fan since I was born but I will stop supporting the club because you are celebrating Christmas with the Christians. You’ve just lost me as a fan Mo Salah. Goodbye!"

Conversely, numerous fans defended Salah, highlighting his positive influence and contributions both on and off the field. One fan described him as the "African GOAT," while another commented, "The most anticipated Christmas post annually. Merry Christmas Mo."

This annual tradition of sharing a Christmas message has been a topic of discussion among fans in previous years as well. In 2020, following a similar post, Liverpool experienced a series of unfavorable results at Anfield. Additionally, in 2021, Salah faced criticism after missing a penalty and an open goal against Leicester shortly after sharing a Christmas photo.

Despite the mixed reactions, Salah's gesture underscores his commitment to spreading goodwill and celebrating the festive season with his family and fans worldwide.
