Nigeria's Super Eagles B secured their place in the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) finals with a commanding victory over Ghana's Black Galaxies on December 28, 2024.
The decisive match, held at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, ended with a 3-0 scoreline in favor of Nigeria, resulting in a 3-0 aggregate win following a goalless draw in the first leg.
The Super Eagles B dominated the match, with goals scored in the 35th, 60th, and 75th minutes, effectively neutralizing Ghana's efforts to mount a comeback. This victory marks Nigeria's first qualification for the CHAN finals in six years, a significant achievement after missing out on the previous two editions.
The 2024 CHAN tournament is scheduled to take place across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania from February 1 to 28, 2025. Nigeria's qualification adds to the anticipation for the tournament, where they will compete against other top African nations featuring players active in their respective domestic leagues.
