The Ogun State Police Command has apprehended four individuals in connection with theft and assault incidents in the Ajuwon and Odeda communities.
The suspects—Joseph Ogu, Sunday Jeremiah, Isikilu Azeez, and Faruq Azeez—were arrested during separate operations.
**Motorcycle Theft in Ajuwon**
In Ajuwon, a commercial motorcyclist, Adebiyi Philip, parked his Bajaj Boxer motorcycle (registration number TRE 228 WZ) at Alapara Junction while seeking passengers. Upon his return, he discovered the motorcycle missing. After a thorough search, the motorcycle was located with 33-year-old Joseph Ogu, who was found tampering with its key and security system. Ogu was promptly arrested, and the motorcycle was recovered. Investigations are ongoing.
**Assault and Theft in Odeda**
In the Iyana-Efon area of Odeda, a member of the Nigeria Hunter and Safety Group, Dele Sosanya, reported that a suspect named Lati had stolen kolanut seeds from his farm on December 19 and 22. When Sosanya attempted to confront Lati, the suspect fled the community. On Christmas Eve at 10:15 am, Lati was spotted again. During the attempted arrest, Lati allegedly became violent, and his accomplices, Isikilu Azeez and Faruq Azeez, attacked security officer Segun Owolabi with a machete, causing severe injuries. A patrol team arrived, arrested Isikilu and Faruq, while Lati managed to flee. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend Lati.
**Gas Cylinder Theft at Ijemo Secondary School**
In another incident within the Odeda Division, 35-year-old Sunday Jeremiah was apprehended by the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation, and Safety Corps for possessing a stolen gas cylinder. The cylinder was taken from Ijemo Secondary School in Odeda. Detectives confirmed the theft, and the school principal has been informed. Jeremiah remains in custody as investigations continue.
The Ogun State Police Command is committed to maintaining public safety and is actively pursuing all leads to ensure justice is served.
