Cristiano Ronaldo has reignited debates within the football world by declaring that the Saudi Pro League is superior to France's Ligue 1. 
Speaking at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, where he was honored as the Best Middle East Player for the second consecutive year, Ronaldo confidently stated, “The Saudi League is better than Ligue 1, of course. France only has PSG; the rest are finished.”
Ronaldo highlighted the unique challenges of playing in Saudi Arabia, particularly the extreme weather conditions. “Try sprinting in 38, 39, or 40-degree weather,” he remarked, emphasizing the league's demanding nature.
These comments have sparked widespread discussion, with some defending Ligue 1’s competitiveness and others pointing to the Saudi Pro League's growing stature due to significant investments in top-tier talent and infrastructure.
In addition to receiving the Best Middle East Player award, Ronaldo was also honored with the prestigious Top Goal Scorer of All Time award during the ceremony, further solidifying his legendary status in the sport.
