Courtois's career is distinguished by significant achievements across top European clubs. He began his professional journey with Genk, making his senior debut at just 16. His exceptional performances led to a move to Chelsea FC, where he secured two Premier League titles and an FA Cup. In 2018, he transferred to Real Madrid, further enhancing his career with three La Liga titles, two UEFA Champions League victories, a Club World Cup, and multiple other honors.
Internationally, Courtois has been a stalwart for the Belgian national team, earning over 100 caps. He played a pivotal role in Belgium's third-place finish at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, where he was awarded the Golden Glove as the tournament's best goalkeeper.
Upon receiving the award, Courtois expressed his gratitude: "I want to thank Globe Soccer for this award. I would also like to thank my wife, my family, and my team-mates. It's an honor to receive this trophy. The journey has been complicated and I'd like to thank all my teammates, my coaches, and my teams. They have all helped me to become the goalkeeper I am. I came back from a tough injury last season, but I live for this sport and I'm feeling better than ever. Thank you very much."
The Globe Soccer Awards, established in 2010, annually recognize excellence in football, honoring players, coaches, clubs, and agents for their contributions to the sport.
