Following this termination, Asake has secured ownership of the masters for all his songs recorded under the label. However, YBNL Music will retain a royalty share from the initial contract, which is set to last for a minimum of 10 years.

This development marks a significant milestone in Asake's career, granting him greater control over his music and future endeavors. The amicable nature of the contract termination reflects a mutual understanding between Asake and Olamide, highlighting a professional and respectful parting of ways.

Asake's decision to part ways with YBNL Music comes after a period of remarkable success. His debut album, "Mr. Money with the Vibe," released in September 2022, achieved significant commercial success, debuting at number 66 on the Billboard 200 chart.

His subsequent albums, "Work of Art" in June 2023 and "Lungu Boy" in August 2024, continued his upward trajectory, with "Lungu Boy" featuring collaborations with prominent artists such as Central Cee, Stormzy, and Travis Scott.
