Real Madrid's star forward Vinicius Jr and defender David Alaba have returned to team training in a significant boost for the squad. Both players have been sidelined due to injuries but are now making their way back to full fitness.
Vinicius Jr, who suffered a hamstring injury in November, was initially expected to be out until the Intercontinental Cup final on December 18. However, his recovery has been ahead of schedule, and he participated in training on Friday. Coach Carlo Ancelotti confirmed that Vinicius Jr will be ready for Real Madrid's next Champions League game against Atalanta on Tuesday.
David Alaba, who has been out for 355 days due to a long-term knee injury, has also rejoined the team training sessions. Ancelotti mentioned that Alaba is finding his fitness and could potentially return to match play in January.
In mid-week, Real Madrid faced Athletic Bilbao in La Liga and suffered a 2-1 defeat. Goals from Alex Berenguer and Gorka Guruzeta secured the win for Athletic Bilbao, while Jude Bellingham scored for Real Madrid.
This weekend, Real Madrid will take on Girona in La Liga. Although Vinicius Jr will not be ready for this match, his presence in training is a positive sign for the team's future performances.
The return of these key players is a much-needed boost for Real Madrid as they aim to improve their form in both La Liga and the Champions League.
