Wayne Rooney once showcased his generosity and camaraderie by gifting Carlos Tevez the use of his Lamborghini during their time at Manchester United.
The incident, which Tevez recounted in a 2019 interview with ESPN Argentina, arose after the Argentine arrived at training in an Audi provided by the club.
While many of his teammates drove luxury cars such as Ferraris, Tevez became the subject of playful banter due to his less extravagant vehicle. Recognizing this, Rooney told him, "Take the Lamborghini," allowing Tevez to borrow the car for ten days.
Tevez, who made 99 appearances and scored 34 goals for Manchester United between 2007 and 2009, reflected on the unique culture at the club compared to his earlier experiences. He explained, "It wasn't the same at Manchester United as at Boca. I missed a penalty at Boca, and they killed me; this didn't happen at United."
The forward also expressed his admiration for Rooney, highlighting their shared determination and humble beginnings. "I identified a lot with Rooney," Tevez said. "He came from a poor area in Liverpool and always fought for the ball as if it were the last."
