Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espírito Santo is confident that Ola Aina will extend his stay at the club, despite growing interest from Manchester City, who have reportedly made the Nigerian defender a top target for the January transfer window.
Aina initially joined Nottingham Forest as a free agent during the summer of 2023. The club later activated a one-year extension clause in his contract, ensuring his services until the end of the 2024–2025 season.
With six months left on his current deal, Aina has attracted attention due to his impressive versatility and performances. Manchester City, in particular, view him as a potential replacement for Kyle Walker as they plan for the future.
Despite this external interest, Espírito Santo has expressed optimism about ongoing contract discussions, indicating that progress is being made. Nottingham Forest is eager to retain Aina, who has played a key role in their success this season, as they aim to strengthen their squad under Espírito Santo's leadership.
