Manchester City has bolstered its defensive lineup with the acquisitions of Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis, both of whom participated in their inaugural training session under manager Pep Guardiola on January 21, 2025. 
Abdukodir Khusanov, a 20-year-old center-back from Uzbekistan, joined City from French club RC Lens for a fee of £33.6 million. His tenure at Lens included 31 Ligue 1 appearances, where he showcased his defensive prowess. Notably, Khusanov is the first Uzbek player to sign with a Premier League club, marking a significant milestone in his career.
Vitor Reis, a 19-year-old Brazilian defender, was signed from Palmeiras for £29.6 million. Recognized as one of the most promising young defenders globally, Reis is anticipated to contribute significantly to City's defensive strategies.
