Abdoulaye Doucouré etched his name into Premier League history by scoring a remarkable goal just 10.18 seconds into Everton’s emphatic 4-0 victory over Leicester City at Goodison Park. His strike, the fourth-fastest goal in the league’s history and the quickest ever scored by a home team since the league's inception in 1992, set the tone for a dominant performance by David Moyes’ side.
A Stunning Start for Everton

The goal came straight from kick-off when James Garner played the ball back to Jordan Pickford, who launched a long pass upfield. Doucouré controlled the ball expertly before surging past Leicester’s defenders and firing into the net, sending the home crowd into raptures.

Everton doubled their lead just six minutes later, as Beto latched onto a well-placed through ball from James Tarkowski to finish calmly. The Portuguese forward added a second goal just before halftime, courtesy of an assist from James Garner, effectively putting the game out of Leicester’s reach.

In the 90th minute, Everton completed their dominant display when Iliman Ndiaye capitalized on a defensive error to score the fourth goal, sealing a crucial third consecutive league victory for the Toffees.
Everton's Resurgence Under David Moyes

The victory marks a significant upturn in form for David Moyes’ Everton, who now sit 15th in the Premier League with 26 points. Their resurgence has been pivotal in their battle to avoid relegation, with confidence growing in the squad.

Speaking after the game, manager David Moyes praised his team’s performance, stating, "The players executed our game plan exceptionally well today. Their commitment and understanding of our objectives were evident throughout the match."

On the other hand, Leicester’s manager Ruud van Nistelrooy acknowledged the early setback and emphasized the need for improvement as his team remains in 17th place, just above the relegation zone, having suffered eight defeats in their last nine matches.

Everton’s commanding performance underscores their revival under Moyes, while Leicester faces mounting pressure to turn their fortunes around in the crucial weeks ahead.
