Chelsea suffered a 2-1 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion in the FA Cup fourth round at the Amex Stadium on Saturday, February 8, 2025.

The match began with an early lead for Chelsea, courtesy of an own goal by Brighton’s goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen. However, Brighton quickly responded, equalizing with a header from Georginio Rutter.

In the second half, Kaoru Mitoma sealed the victory for Brighton with a composed chip over Chelsea's goalkeeper, Robert Sanchez. Chelsea's performance was plagued by a lack of offensive cohesion and an underwhelming attack, further highlighting the team’s ongoing struggles this season.
