According to records from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Guobadia, a Nigerian-born businessman, is currently held at the Stewart Detention Center in Lumpkin, Georgia.
Guobadia's detention aligns with President Donald Trump's recent mass deportation initiative, enacted through executive orders during his second term. Guobadia, 60, migrated to the United States in 1982 but overstayed his visa and was declared deportable in 1985. He faced multiple arrests for bank and credit card fraud, leading to his deportation in 1992; however, he returned to the U.S. shortly thereafter. In 2016, his application for naturalization was denied due to prior immigration violations.
Williams, 43, filed for divorce from Guobadia in February 2024 after 15 months of marriage. The couple has been engaged in ongoing legal disputes, with Williams recently securing temporary sole possession of their marital residence and the unrestricted right to produce media content on the premises.
In response to Guobadia's detention, Williams expressed her sentiments on Instagram: "It's disheartening to see my estranged husband make choices that have led to this outcome. At this moment, my priority is moving forward with my family."
