Why We Lost 2-0 To Liverpool - Man City's Doku Reveals

Manchester City winger Jeremy Doku expressed optimism despite his team's 2-0 defeat to Premier League leaders Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, February 23, 2025. The loss leaves City 20 points behind Liverpool, who now lead the league by 11 points. 

Doku acknowledged Liverpool's effectiveness, noting that both goals resulted from set pieces and long balls. He stated, "To be fair, if I look at the game, I don't think that they were much better than us. Two goals, one set piece and the second goal was a long ball, so well done to them." 

Despite the defeat, Doku highlighted Manchester City's positive aspects, including their possession and attacking efforts. He remarked, "We played well, but the situations that we had we could have dealt better with them. Today we played better against them than we did away." 

Doku's individual performance was notable; he completed eight successful dribbles in the first half alone, showcasing his attacking prowess. 

Looking ahead, Doku emphasized the importance of learning from this match and maintaining a positive outlook. He concluded, "Some games are like that. We just have to keep on going and take the good things from the game."
