Erling Haaland Makes Premier League History with 100 Goal Involvements in Fewer Than 100 Appearances

Erling Haaland has made Premier League history by becoming the first player to reach 100 goal involvements (goals and assists) in fewer than 100 appearances. Haaland achieved this remarkable feat in Manchester City's 2-2 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion on March 15, 2025, at the Etihad Stadium.
The Norwegian striker opened the scoring in the 11th minute with a penalty, marking his 100th goal involvement in just his 94th appearance for City. However, Brighton responded with a stunning free-kick from Pervis Estupiñán in the 21st minute, and the Seagulls pulled level again in the second half when an own goal from City's Abdukodir Khusanov in the 48th minute made it 2-2. City’s Omar Marmoush scored in the 39th minute to briefly give the hosts a 2-1 lead.

Haaland’s goal involvement milestone surpassed the previous record set by Alan Shearer, who reached 100 goal involvements in 100 games. Other notable players, such as Eric Cantona, Mohamed Salah, and Sergio Agüero, had reached this milestone in more than 100 appearances.

Despite Haaland’s record-breaking achievement, Manchester City were held to a draw, leaving them provisionally fifth in the Premier League with 48 points. Brighton, who sit in seventh place, are just a point behind City.
