Gasperini Set to Hand Ademola Lookman Atalanta Captaincy Following Impressive Form

Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini has expressed his belief that Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman is poised to assume the role of team captain before the conclusion of the season.

This endorsement follows Lookman's standout performance in Atalanta's recent 4-0 victory over Juventus, during which he netted his 13th Serie A goal of the season. 

Gasperini highlighted Lookman's evolution from an individualistic player to a team-oriented contributor, stating, "He made Atalanta great, and Atalanta made him great." The coach further remarked, "I am convinced he can be the captain before the end of the season." 

This development signifies a positive turn in the relationship between Gasperini and Lookman, who had previously experienced tensions following a missed penalty in a Champions League match against Club Brugge.
