Manchester City secured a 3-1 victory over Plymouth Argyle in their FA Cup fifth-round match at the Etihad Stadium today. The match began with Plymouth taking a surprising lead in the 38th minute when Ukrainian defender Maksym Talovyerov headed in a corner, giving the visitors a 1-0 advantage.
Manchester City responded assertively, dominating possession and creating numerous chances. Their persistence paid off just before halftime when 19-year-old Nico O'Reilly scored the equalizer. O'Reilly's performance was pivotal; he added a second goal in the 76th minute, heading in from one of City's numerous corners.

To ensure progression, Pep Guardiola introduced Erling Haaland in the second half. The decision proved effective, as Haaland set up Kevin De Bruyne for a decisive goal in the 90th minute, finalizing the 3-1 scoreline.

Despite the loss, Plymouth Argyle's defense, particularly goalkeeper Conor Hazard, was commendable, making several crucial saves to keep the team competitive.
