Mason Mount Returns to Manchester United Training After Three-Month Injury Layoff

Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount has resumed training after a three-month absence due to a hamstring injury. The 26-year-old sustained the injury during the Manchester derby on December 15, 2024, and has been sidelined since.
Mount's return is timely for manager Ruben Amorim, who is currently dealing with a selection crisis, particularly in defense, with center-backs Leny Yoro and Harry Maguire both sidelined. Despite Mount's progress, he is not expected to feature in the upcoming Europa League match against Real Sociedad.

Since his £55 million transfer from Chelsea in July 2023, Mount's tenure at Manchester United has been marred by injuries, limiting his appearances. Amorim has expressed his admiration for Mount, emphasizing his importance to the team's tactical setup and expressing optimism about his potential impact once fully fit.

In Mount's absence, United managed a 1-1 draw against Arsenal, with standout performances from Bruno Fernandes and Declan Rice. The team showed significant improvement despite ongoing ownership protests from fans.
