Newcastle United’s Lewis Hall Ruled Out for Rest of 2024/25 Season Due to Foot Injury

 

Newcastle United's defender, Lewis Hall, has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2024/25 season following a foot injury sustained during the Premier League match against Liverpool. The 20-year-old left-back is scheduled to undergo surgery, followed by a rehabilitation program under the supervision of the club's medical team.

 

This development poses a significant challenge for Newcastle as they prepare for the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool on March 16. Hall's absence is compounded by the suspension of winger Anthony Gordon, who received a red card during the recent FA Cup defeat to Brighton, resulting in a three-match ban that includes the cup final. 

Manager Eddie Howe now faces the task of adjusting his tactical plans to compensate for the loss of key players on the left flank. The team is currently sixth in the Premier League standings and is striving to secure a European spot for the next season. 

Hall's injury also affects the national team, as he was anticipated to be included in England manager Thomas Tuchel's squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Latvia. With Hall unavailable, Tuchel may consider alternative options, such as Arsenal's 18-year-old Myles Lewis-Skelly, despite concerns regarding his age and experience. 

Newcastle's upcoming fixtures include a Premier League match against West Ham United on March 10, followed by the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool on March 16. The team will need to adapt swiftly to these setbacks to maintain their competitive edge in both domestic and cup competitions.
