Trent Alexander-Arnold Ruled Out of Carabao Cup Final Following Injury

Liverpool has been dealt a significant blow ahead of their Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United, as star right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has been ruled out due to injury. The England international sustained the setback during Liverpool's UEFA Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain earlier this week.

Alexander-Arnold was forced off in the 73rd minute after appearing to twist his ankle while attempting a challenge on PSG's Vitinha. Following an assessment by Liverpool's medical team, it has been confirmed that he will not recover in time for the final at Wembley. This marks the second consecutive Carabao Cup final that Alexander-Arnold will miss due to injury.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot expressed his disappointment, stating, "Trent had to come off, and that's never a good sign. From what I’ve heard, the injury doesn’t look good, so I would be surprised if he is available for Sunday."

The absence of Alexander-Arnold adds to Liverpool's defensive concerns, with other key players like Conor Bradley and Joe Gomez also sidelined. Jarell Quansah is expected to step in as a replacement for the crucial match, as Liverpool aims to secure their first silverware of the season.
