Aurélien Tchouaméni expressed his frustration on social media after Real Madrid suffered a 3-2 defeat to Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final last night.
He wrote, "They celebrate our losses like we ain’t gon win again. We will be back," highlighting the team's determination to respond strongly after the disappointment.
In a thrilling final at Estadio de La Cartuja in Seville, Barcelona took the lead in the 28th minute when Pedri finished neatly. Real Madrid responded in the second half, with Kylian Mbappé equalizing in the 70th minute through a well-taken free-kick. Seven minutes later, Aurélien Tchouaméni himself put Real Madrid ahead with a powerful header from an Arda Güler corner. However, Barcelona refused to back down, as Ferran Torres levelled the match again in the 84th minute, finishing a fine move involving Lamine Yamal.
The match went into extra time, and it was Barcelona who found the winner. In the 116th minute, Jules Koundé intercepted a loose ball and fired a low shot past the Real Madrid goalkeeper to seal the victory and hand Barcelona their 32nd Copa del Rey title.
The match also saw several controversial incidents. Antonio Rüdiger was sent off after throwing an object at the referee from the bench, followed by Lucas Vázquez receiving a red card for dissent. After the final whistle, Jude Bellingham was also dismissed for an aggressive confrontation with the referee.
