Barcelona have paid tribute to their former coach, Tito Vilanova, as they mark the 11th anniversary of his passing. Vilanova, who tragically died on April 25, 2014, at the age of 45 following a long battle with throat cancer, remains a cherished figure in the club’s history.
Tito Vilanova led Barcelona to remarkable success during his time in charge, most notably guiding the team to a record-breaking 100-point La Liga title in the 2012–13 season. Prior to his tenure as head coach, he served as Pep Guardiola’s trusted assistant during one of the club’s most successful eras.
Following his death, Barcelona took meaningful steps to honor his memory. In 2015, the club named the main training pitch at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper in his honor, ensuring that future generations would recognize his immense contributions.
Barcelona also produced a touching documentary titled "100x100 Tito," which reflects on the 2012–13 season and captures Vilanova’s influence through interviews with his family, players, and coaching staff from that period.
