Femi Otedola, a prominent billionaire and philanthropist, shared his deep sorrow upon hearing about the passing of Nigerian football legend Christian Chukwu.
He described the news as a shocking loss and commended Chukwu's significant contributions to Nigerian football.
Otedola mentioned, "Christian Chukwu, as a patriotic Nigerian, used football as a powerful tool to bring unity to individuals and the nation as a whole."
Chukwu, who died at the age of 74, is remembered for his extraordinary career as both a player and coach. He famously led Nigeria to its first-ever Africa Cup of Nations victory in 1980 and excelled as a player for Enugu Rangers.
Otedola also reflected on his own role in aiding Chukwu during a critical health challenge in 2019, providing financial support for the football icon's medical treatment in the UK.
