Hansi Flick addressed concerns following Barcelona's dominant 4-0 victory against Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final. Young talent Lamine Yamal, who scored the fourth goal of the match, was substituted in the 80th minute after signaling discomfort in his left leg.

Flick reassured fans, stating, "Lamine Yamal has no injury; he is fine." The coach explained that the decision to take him off was simply a precaution, as the teenager has been involved in a significant amount of playing time lately. "He’s played a lot of minutes recently, and it was beneficial for him to get some rest," Flick added.

The substitution came after previous comments from Flick in September 2024, where he noted that Yamal did not require rest despite his heavy involvement in the season's games, highlighting the young player’s resilience.

Barcelona’s impressive 4-0 scoreline featured two goals from Robert Lewandowski, one from Raphinha, and Yamal’s contribution.

While the result put Barcelona in a strong position, Flick cautioned that the tie is not yet settled. "We need to replicate this performance in the second leg," he emphasized, acknowledging the importance of staying focused for the return leg in Dortmund.
