Ipswich Town’s relegation was sealed following a 3–0 defeat to Newcastle United. The loss left them with 21 points, 15 behind safety with only four matches remaining, confirming their drop alongside Leicester City and Southampton. This marks the first time in Premier League history that all relegated teams were confirmed with four games still left in the season.
Leicester City's relegation was confirmed six days earlier after a 1–0 home defeat to Liverpool. This marked a swift downfall just a season after being promoted. Notably, Leicester set a new Premier League record by failing to score in nine consecutive home matches.
Southampton became the first team of the season to be relegated after a 3–1 defeat away to Tottenham Hotspur on April 6, 2025. With only 10 points from 31 games, they became the first team in Premier League history to go down with seven matches left to play.
This season is only the third time in Premier League history that all three promoted teams were relegated after just one season in the top flight, the first instance being in the 1997–98 campaign.
