Jack Grealish delivered an emotional tribute to his late brother, Keelan, following Manchester City's 2-0 victory over Leicester City on April 2, 2025. Grealish scored the opening goal just 70 seconds into the match, marking his first Premier League goal since December 2023. This goal held profound significance as it coincided with the 25th anniversary of Keelan's passing.
In a heartfelt post-match interview, Grealish expressed the emotional weight of the day:
"I felt like I deserved to play tonight and I was just happy. It was a nice day because my little brother passed away 25 years ago today. So this day is always hard in the family. My mum and dad were here and I think this day ..."
Keelan tragically passed away from cot death at just nine months old in April 2000, when Jack was four years old. Throughout his career, Grealish has consistently honored his brother's memory. He dedicated his first senior goal, scored during a loan spell at Notts County, to Keelan. Similarly, in November 2018, while playing for Aston Villa, he dedicated a goal in a 4- ... late sibling.
The recent goal against Leicester not only ended a 473-day Premier League scoring drought for Grealish but also served as a poignant tribute to his brother's enduring memory.
