Jorginho Expected to Leave Arsenal as Free Agent, Flamengo Submit Proposal
Arsenal midfielder Jorginho is reportedly set to depart the club as a free agent at the end of the current season, with Brazilian side Flamengo having already submitted a proposal for his services.
The 33-year-old Italy international, who joined Arsenal from Chelsea in January 2023, has had limited involvement this season, featuring sparingly in the Premier League. His potential exit aligns with the club’s efforts to refresh their midfield options and manage the wage structure.
Flamengo previously attempted to sign Jorginho during the January transfer window, but Arsenal opted to retain him for the remainder of the campaign. This time, the Brazilian giants have renewed their interest with a formal offer, hoping to secure him on a free transfer once his contract expires.
Although there were earlier suggestions of interest from Neom FC in Saudi Arabia, there are currently no active negotiations between the player and the Saudi club.
Jorginho’s potential move to Flamengo would mark a return to his birth country and is expected to provide a significant boost to the Brazilian side’s midfield depth ahead of upcoming competitions.
