Liverpool secured a commanding 5-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur today at Anfield, clinching the 2024–25 Premier League title.
This triumph marks Liverpool's 20th top-flight league title, equaling Manchester United's record.
Despite falling behind early to a goal from former Liverpool player Dominic Solanke, the Reds responded emphatically. Luis Díaz equalized following a VAR review that overturned an offside call. Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo added goals before halftime, giving Liverpool a 3-1 lead. In the second half, Mohamed Salah scored his 28th league goal of the season, and an own goal by Destiny Udogie sealed the 5-1 result.
This title is particularly significant as it's the first under new manager Arne Slot, who succeeded Jürgen Klopp. Unlike their 2019–20 title win during the COVID-19 lockdown, this championship was celebrated in front of a jubilant Anfield crowd.
With this victory, Liverpool has secured the Premier League title with four matches remaining in the season.
