Stephen Enang, a Nigerian Police Inspector and passionate supporter of Arsenal Football Club, tragically passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. His death occurred shortly after watching Arsenal’s emphatic 3-0 win over Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Well-regarded among his colleagues and in his community for his devotion to the North London club, Enang's sudden demise has drawn widespread attention, highlighting the deep emotional investment many fans have in football.
This heartbreaking incident follows similar cases involving passionate Arsenal supporters. In 2017, Dominic Ejimba from Imo State reportedly collapsed and died after Arsenal conceded a goal in a match against Stoke City. Witnesses said he became visibly distressed before losing consciousness.
More recently, in December 2024, another devoted Arsenal fan, John Ssenyonga from Uganda, was fatally shot while celebrating Arsenal’s victory over Manchester United. The tragic incident occurred when a security guard opened fire on celebrating fans in Lukaya town.
