Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr. P, recently hosted British-Nigerian boxing champion Anthony Joshua at his Lagos residence, St. Peterville. The gathering, which took place on the evening of April 22, 2025, was a celebration of camaraderie and cultural pride.
Okoye shared a video of the event on his social media platform, capturing moments with Joshua and other notable guests, including his wife Lola Omotayo-Okoye, their son Cameron, comedian AY, and entertainment executive Zippy. Joshua’s visit to Nigeria has been marked by a series of engagements celebrating his heritage. He visited his hometown of Sagamu in Ogun State, where he was warmly received by the local community. In a display of cultural respect, Joshua prostrated to greet Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, adhering to Yoruba traditions.
During his stay, Joshua was also hosted by Hon. Dr. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), who commended him for being a global ambassador of Nigerian excellence.
