Tottenham Hotspur advanced to the UEFA Europa League semifinals with a 1-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday night, sealing a 2-1 aggregate triumph.
The only goal of the match came in the 43rd minute, when Dominic Solanke calmly converted a penalty after a VAR review confirmed a foul by Frankfurt goalkeeper Kaua Santos on James Maddison.
Despite the absence of captain Son Heung-min due to injury, Spurs delivered a disciplined and resolute performance. Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario made a series of vital saves to keep the clean sheet intact, while defenders Micky van de Ven and Destiny Udogie were instrumental in shutting down Frankfurt’s attacking threats.
This win marks Tottenham’s first appearance in a European semifinal since their memorable run to the UEFA Champions League final in 2019. They are now set to face Norwegian side Bodø/Glimt in the semifinals, as they aim to capture their first European trophy since 1984.
