UEFA Pays Tribute to Pope Francis with Moment of Silence Before Semi-Finals

UEFA has announced that a moment of silence will be observed in memory of Pope Francis before the semi-finals of various competitions.

This includes the UEFA Youth League, Women's Champions League, and men's club competitions, scheduled between April 29 and May 1.

This tribute comes following the passing of Pope Francis on April 21, 2025. UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin described the Pope as a "beacon of hope for all humanity," emphasizing his tireless advocacy for the poor, humble, and vulnerable.
