Antony Tearfully Reveals Struggles at Manchester United: "I Went Days Without Eating"

Antony broke down in tears as he opened up about the emotional turmoil he endured during his most difficult period at Manchester United, revealing that he sometimes went days without eating and would isolate himself in his room.

Speaking to TNT Sports Brazil, the Brazilian winger shared how deeply he struggled to find joy in football during that time, admitting he had lost the desire to play and questioned whether he could continue.

Antony joined Manchester United from Ajax in a £90 million deal in 2022 but struggled to live up to expectations, scoring just one goal in 14 appearances this season. Under manager Rúben Amorim, he fell out of favour and was eventually sent on loan to Real Betis in January 2025. Since his move to Spain, the 24-year-old has experienced a revival in form, registering nine goals and five assists, with reports suggesting a permanent transfer worth £30 million is being discussed.
