Liverpool boss Arne Slot has revealed that young right-back Conor Bradley will be handed a starting role in Sunday’s clash against Arsenal, with a clear eye on the club’s future.
Speaking ahead of the game, Slot made it clear that the 21-year-old is not just filling in—he’s part of a bigger plan. “Conor Bradley will start on Sunday because he needs more games under his belt to prepare for next season,” Slot explained. “We trust him, for sure.”
With Liverpool having already wrapped up the Premier League title, Slot is using the final fixtures to fine-tune his squad and give valuable minutes to emerging talents like Bradley. The Northern Ireland international has impressed in bursts this season, most notably in a fearless display against Real Madrid, where he shut down Kylian Mbappé and even provided an assist.
Bradley’s rise has been timely. With Trent Alexander-Arnold expected to leave Anfield this summer, Slot is clearly positioning the academy graduate for a larger role in 2025. The Dutch manager has previously praised Bradley’s qualities, calling him “a very good player” and hinting that he’s viewed as a long-term solution at right-back.
Sunday’s showdown at the Anfield might not carry title implications, but for Conor Bradley, it could be another step in what’s shaping up to be a major breakthrough.
