Arsenal’s Jorginho Set to Join Flamengo on Free Transfer in June
Arsenal’s Jorginho is set to leave the club at the end of the season and join Brazilian side Flamengo on a free transfer, with a pre-contract agreement already in place. The deal, which has been in the works since January, marks a significant move for the Italian midfielder as he prepares to return to his birth country after spending over a decade in European football.

Flamengo had initially hoped to secure Jorginho’s services during the January window, but Arsenal blocked the move, choosing to retain the 32-year-old until the end of the 2024/25 campaign. Despite earlier concerns from his family about relocating to Brazil, the deal is now expected to be finalized, with the midfielder set to sign a three-year contract.

Jorginho’s experience is seen as a valuable asset by Flamengo, especially as the club gears up for the expanded FIFA Club World Cup in June 2025. The move also signals the beginning of a midfield reshuffle at Arsenal, with reports linking the Premier League club to new targets such as Bruno Guimarães, Alexander Isak, and Martín Zubimendi.

The former Chelsea and Napoli star joined Arsenal in January 2023 and has made key contributions during his time at the Emirates Stadium. However, with his contract set to expire in June, he will now embark on a new chapter in South America with Flamengo.
