Hansi Flick has officially signed a contract extension with FC Barcelona, committing to the club until June 2027. The new deal adds an additional year to his original agreement, which was set to expire in 2026, and reflects the club’s confidence in his leadership following a highly successful debut season.
Since taking charge in May 2024, the German coach has overseen a remarkable transformation at the club. Under his guidance, Barcelona secured a domestic treble—winning La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup—while also defeating Real Madrid in all four meetings across those competitions.
Flick also led the team to the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League, where they narrowly lost to Inter Milan in a thrilling two-legged tie. His tactical philosophy, built around a high defensive line, intense pressing, and fluid attacking football, has earned widespread acclaim from both fans and club officials.
Club president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco have expressed their full support for Flick’s continued leadership, describing him as the ideal figure to guide Barcelona into a new era of sustained success. With this extension, the 59-year-old manager is now tasked with building on the momentum of his first season and aiming for greater achievements on the European stage.
