Inter Milan concluded their Serie A season with a commanding 2-0 victory over Como on Friday night, though the triumph was insufficient to secure the league title. Despite the win, Inter finished second in the standings as Napoli clinched the championship with a 2-0 victory over Cagliari.
The match at Como was notable for the sending off of veteran goalkeeper Pepe Reina in his final professional appearance, marking an eventful end to his distinguished career.

Assistant coach Massimiliano Farris, speaking on behalf of suspended head coach Simone Inzaghi, acknowledged the disappointment of narrowly missing out on the title but commended Napoli's performance. He emphasized the team's focus on the upcoming UEFA Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain in Munich on May 31. Farris defended the decision to rest key players such as Lautaro Martínez and Marcus Thuram, highlighting the importance of preserving their fitness for the crucial European fixture.
