Brighton & Hove Albion Women have strengthened their squad by signing Nigerian international goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie on a free transfer. She will officially join the club on July 1, 2025, after the expiration of her contract with Paris FC.
Nnadozie has been a key figure for Nigeria’s Super Falcons since making her senior debut in 2018, earning 55 caps. During her five seasons with Paris FC, she made 118 appearances, including 16 matches in the UEFA Women’s Champions League between 2022 and 2025. She was instrumental in their 2025 Coupe de France Féminine triumph, saving two penalties in the final.

The 24-year-old boasts an impressive list of accolades. She was named the UNFP Division 1 Féminine Goalkeeper of the Season for 2023–24, becoming the first African to win the award. She was also recognised as the D1 Arkema Best Goalkeeper and IFFHS Africa’s Best Woman Goalkeeper in 2019.

Brighton Women’s head coach Dario Vidosic praised Nnadozie as a talented and commanding goalkeeper who will bring consistency and confidence to their defence. He expressed optimism that her arrival would add both depth and drive as they prepare for the upcoming season.

Brighton finished fifth in the FA Women’s Super League last season but struggled defensively, conceding 41 goals in 22 matches. Nnadozie’s arrival is expected to address those concerns with her proven shot-stopping ability and experience under pressure.

Born on December 8, 2000, in Orlu, Imo State, Nnadozie began her career with Rivers Angels in Nigeria, where she won the 2019 Nigeria Women’s Premier League title and three Nigerian Women’s Cups. She moved to Paris FC in January 2020 and quickly established herself as one of Africa’s top goalkeepers.
