Calvin Bassey Crowned Fulham's Player of the Season for 2024/25
Nigerian international Calvin Bassey has been named Fulham's Player of the Season for the 2024/25 campaign, marking a historic milestone as the first African to receive the club's top individual honor. Bassey secured 39.6% of the fan vote, surpassing fellow Nigerian and teammate Alex Iwobi, who finished second with 21.5% of the votes.
Bassey's consistent performances and defensive solidity were instrumental in Fulham's impressive 11th-place finish in the Premier League. He played a key role in the team's record points haul and was a standout figure in Marco Silva's side. He made 35 Premier League appearances and 37 games across all competitions, scoring two crucial goals.
Bassey thanked fans for the recognition, saying, "Thank you guys for voting me Player of the Season. I want to thank God – without God, I wouldn’t be where I am. Big up all my team, guys who are not necessarily at the Club, who have been helping me. Obviously, thanks to the coaching staff and the Manager for trusting me and believing in me. Hopefully, we can do amazing things next season, so thank you for your support guys." This achievement highlights Bassey's growth as a player and his importance to Fulham's success.
