Chelsea have confirmed that João Félix and Raheem Sterling will be excluded from the club’s squad for the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States. The decision reflects Chelsea’s intention to offload both players this summer and prioritise the future first-team core .
Félix, who joined last August for a reported £42.6 million, spent the latter part of the season on loan at AC Milan but managed just four goal contributions in 21 appearances. He has now been stripped of the No. 14 shirt ahead of the tournament . That jersey has since been reassigned to new signing Dário Essugo, a 20‑year‑old midfielder recently signed from Sporting CP .

Sterling, who spent the season on loan at Arsenal, has similarly been removed from the travelling squad. Chelsea do not foresee a future for the 30‑year‑old at Stamford Bridge and are already exploring transfer options .
