The move is expected to be finalised with formal processes next week following the conclusion of his current contract on June 30, 2025 .
At 29 years old, Tete brings significant Premier League experience from his four seasons at Fulham, alongside previous spells at Ajax and Lyon . During his time in London, he registered 121 appearances across all competitions, contributing four goals and ten assists .
The addition of Tete addresses a long-standing need at right-back for Everton—particularly as club captain Seamus Coleman approaches the later stages of his career, while Jonjoe Kenny and Nathan Patterson have struggled to cement the position. In the short term, Ashley Young also served as cover .
While Tete offers stability and top-flight know-how, there are injury concerns: he has surpassed 30 league appearances in a season only once . Still, his arrival signals Everton’s intent to strengthen under manager David Moyes and prepare for what is shaping up to be a major summer squad overhaul .
