Kepa Arrizabalaga is on the verge of joining Arsenal from Chelsea, with the North London club expected to activate the £5 million release clause in his contract.
The 30-year-old Spanish international, who became the world’s most expensive goalkeeper when he moved to Chelsea in 2018 for £71.6 million, spent last season on loan at Real Madrid and more recently at AFC Bournemouth, where he impressed with 31 Premier League appearances and nine clean sheets.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has identified Kepa as an ideal addition to strengthen the club’s goalkeeping department. Although David Raya remains first-choice, Kepa is seen as valuable competition and a dependable option, particularly with Champions League and domestic cup campaigns ahead.
This move would mark Arsenal's latest signing from Chelsea in recent years, following the arrivals of Willian, David Luiz, Jorginho, and Kai Havertz.
Final details of the deal are reportedly being completed, with both clubs and the player having reached an agreement, positioning Kepa for a fresh start at the Emirates Stadium.
