Germany international Leroy Sané has officially signed with Turkish club Galatasaray on a three-year contract, marking the end of his tenure at Bayern Munich.

Sané departs Bayern on a free transfer after turning down a contract extension. Galatasaray secured his signature with a lucrative package reportedly worth up to €15 million net per season—approximately £10–11 million—surpassing offers from Arsenal, Al-Hilal, and Bayern. The winger is set to earn around €15 million annually until 2028.

Persistent negotiations and attractive financial terms were instrumental in completing the deal, as reported by Sky Sport’s Florian Plettenberg. Sané has already arrived in Istanbul to undergo his medical and finalize the move.

During his time at Bayern Munich from 2020 to 2025, Sané won four Bundesliga titles and contributed 61 goals and 55 assists across 220 appearances. Prior to that, he played for Manchester City, where he was named the PFA Young Player of the Year in 2018 before transferring to Bayern for €49 million.

Sané’s move is a statement of intent from Galatasaray as they gear up for the UEFA Champions League. His arrival follows Victor Osimhen’s departure and stands as one of the most high-profile transfers in recent Turkish Süper Lig history. Meanwhile, Bayern Munich will proceed without him at the upcoming Club World Cup, confident in the depth of their squad.
