Manchester City delivered a commanding performance in the FIFA Club World Cup, thrashing Al Ain 6–0 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The win secured their place in the tournament’s last 16.
Ilkay Gündogan opened the scoring early and added another in the second half. Rising star Claudio Echeverri netted a stunning free-kick for his first goal with the club, while Erling Haaland converted a penalty to make it 3–0 by halftime. Substitutes Oscar Bobb and Rayan Cherki rounded off the scoring late in the game.
City now face Juventus in their final group match to determine who tops Group G and potentially avoids Real Madrid in the knockout stage.
