Manchester United have officially secured the signing of Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers. The 26-year-old attacker has penned a five-year contract, with an additional one-year option, making him the latest addition to Ruben Amorim’s squad at Old Trafford.
The transfer was finalized after United triggered Cunha’s £62.5m release clause, a move that had been anticipated earlier in the week. Despite interest from other clubs, Cunha was keen on joining United, believing in the club’s stature and long-term project under Amorim.

Cunha, who joined Wolves from Atletico Madrid in 2022, has been a standout performer in the Premier League, registering 15 goals and six assists in the 2024/25 season. His versatility and attacking prowess are expected to bolster United’s frontline, particularly in Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 system, where he is likely to play a pivotal role.

With all documents signed and formalities completed, Cunha is set to undergo his medical before linking up with his new teammates. His arrival marks United’s first major signing of the summer transfer window, as the club looks to rebuild following a disappointing domestic campaign.

United fans will be eager to see how Cunha adapts to life at Old Trafford and whether he can help reignite the club’s attacking firepower in the upcoming season.
