João Neves opened the scoring just six minutes into the match, heading home a well-placed free-kick. He added a second in the 39th minute after a well-worked move involving Bradley Barcola and Fabián Ruiz. Inter Miami’s Tomás Avilés then inadvertently deflected the ball into his own net, making it 3–0 before the break. Achraf Hakimi rounded off the win with a precise strike off the bar in stoppage time.
PSG controlled the game from start to finish, limiting Inter Miami’s chances. Lionel Messi was kept largely quiet, managing only a couple of efforts, including a free-kick that hit the wall and a shot saved by Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Luis Enrique praised his team’s display, saying, “It was almost a perfect match. We generated numerous chances, and while I’m pleased, there’s always room to improve—that’s football for you.”
Inter Miami coach Javier Mascherano said, “I’m very proud of my players. You could see the class difference today, but football allows you to compete—and we did. PSG are exceptional, but we took them on.”
PSG will now face the winner between Flamengo and Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals.
