Frank has built a strong reputation for his work at Brentford, where he took charge in 2018 after initially joining the club’s backroom staff two years earlier. He guided the team to Premier League promotion in 2021 and led them to a top-10 finish last season—18 points ahead of Tottenham. His coaching philosophy, which emphasises tactical flexibility and player development, has earned praise from football figures such as Christian Eriksen, Jermain Defoe, and Glenn Hoddle.
Joining Frank at Spurs are several key members of his Brentford staff, including first-team coach Justin Cochrane, head of performance Chris Haslam, and analyst Joe Newton. Andreas Georgson, previously with Manchester United, will also be part of the setup. From Postecoglou’s coaching team, only Matt Wells and goalkeeping coach Rob Burch will remain at the club.
Despite securing Champions League football through their Europa League victory, Tottenham parted ways with Postecoglou just over two weeks after the final, citing inconsistent domestic form as the main reason behind the decision.
Frank now faces the challenge of leading a high-profile club with greater expectations and scrutiny. While his ability to overachieve with limited resources at Brentford has been widely acknowledged, managing a club of Tottenham’s stature brings new pressures. Additionally, key figures such as club captain Heung‑min Son have yet to commit to the new season, and Brentford are beginning the search for Frank’s replacement.
