Rafael Leão opened the scoring early for Milan, giving them the lead within the first 10 minutes. Dominik Szoboszlai equalized for Liverpool just before halftime with a superb long-range strike. After the break, Ruben Loftus-Cheek restored Milan’s lead with a composed finish. Noah Okafor then added a third goal and sealed the win with a second in stoppage time following a goalkeeping error. Cody Gakpo had briefly given Liverpool hope with a late header to make it 3–2, but it wasn’t enough.
Under the guidance of newly reappointed manager Massimiliano Allegri, who returned to AC Milan in May 2025, the team showed tactical discipline and clinical execution against their English opponents.
This victory comes after Milan’s recent 1–0 defeat to Arsenal in Singapore on July 23, where Bukayo Saka scored the only goal.
