Arsenal have officially secured the transfer of England winger Noni Madueke from Chelsea on a five-year contract, in a deal reportedly worth £48–52 million including add-ons. Madueke, 23, is set to wear the No. 20 shirt and becomes the club’s fourth major signing of the summer, following goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, Dani Ceballos, and Martin Zubimendi .
The England international described his move as following a strong "gut feeling" and spoke of his excitement to return to North London and be closer to family. He emphasized his ambition to help Arsenal challenge for trophies and continue maturing as both a player and person .
Chelsea, having signed him from PSV Eindhoven in January 2023 for around €35 million, receive an initial £48–48.5 million with potential add-ons worth approximately £4 million. Madueke made over 90 appearances in all competitions for the Blues, contributing 20 goals and 7 assists . He was part of their successful UEFA Conference League and FIFA Club World Cup squads, although his involvement diminished later in the season .
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta praised Madueke’s blend of experience and ability, highlighting the winger’s proven impact at both club and international levels . Sporting director Andrea Berta described him as "a dynamic, versatile wide forward" who will significantly bolster the team's attacking options .
Madueke's versatility—capable of playing on either wing—offers valuable depth behind Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli. In his first statements as a Gunner, Madueke confirmed: “I try and be a dual threat from the left and from the right … it doesn’t really matter to me where I play” .
The signing aligns with Arsenal’s ambitious summer—totaling over £186 million in spending with the additions of Viktor Gyökeres and Cristhian Mosquera expected to follow . The squad is due to embark on their pre-season tour in Asia later this month, with Madueke anticipated to make his debut in the friendly against AC Milan on July 23 in Singapore .
