Veteran broadcaster Frank Edoho has addressed recent claims made by social commentator Japheth Omojuwa, who alleged that Edoho had been subtly targeting him due to his opposition to suggestions that Edoho should replace Ebuka Obi-Uchendu as host of Big Brother Naija.
In a firm rebuttal, Edoho stated:
“I have never coveted Ebuka’s job nor the job of any of my colleagues. I don’t understand why anyone would think I’m interested in replacing someone who’s doing an excellent job.”
The controversy stems from a social media exchange in which Edoho responded to a post involving Omojuwa. Omojuwa interpreted the comment as a personal jab, linking it to his past stance against Edoho being considered for the BBNaija hosting role.
Edoho clarified his position further:
“What did Ebuka do to deserve all this? Why would you want to change someone that has done a show successfully for only three years and have him replaced with one who did Who Wants to Be a Millionaire for 13 years? Leave Ebuka alone! Please.”
The broadcaster emphasized that his remarks were not directed at Omojuwa personally and reiterated his respect for his colleagues in the media industry.
